The Schedule for the coming weeks...

Tonight I spoke with our Site Manager, here is the plan for the next 2-3 weeks:

  • Friday (tomorrow) - Roof Tiling on Level 1 continues...
  • Friday (tomorrow) - Fascia & Gutter on Ground Floor and Garage to be done.
  • Monday (4 May) - Roof Tiling on Ground Floor occurs. Bricklayers return to complete/fix brickwork.
  • Tuesday (5th May) - Roof Tiling finishes. Brickies continue.
  • Wed or Thu (6/7 May) - Carpenter returns to complete the Ceiling Bulkheads.
  • Wed or Thu (6/7 May) - Painter arrives to apply the acrylic membrane to the render on the facade.
  • WEEK from Monday (11 May) - Electrician, Sentinal Alarms and Harvey Norman Air Con arrive to do their stuff...
  • WEEK from Monday (18 May) - Gyprocking can start...

Now, once the Gyprocking is completed the 'usual' time to handover is appx 6-7 weeks - this means our approx. handover date is around:

10 July 2009 ! ! ! :-)

to coincide with the arrival of the Tax Bill :-(

Yippee - Roof Tiles are going on...

Here are some pictures as @ 1 pm this afternoon.

(a very scenic picture of the hills too)

It's all very exciting and we can't wait to see it done.

BTW, it's my father-in-law's (Bob's) irthday today, we all want to wish him a very happy birthday.

The Roof Tiling Has Started !!!

Hi Everyone,

This morning, en route to work, I stopped by the house.

There were a couple of guys putting the batterns up onto the second level (ready to cut and fix after the sarking arrives) and then the truck arrived with the roof tiles on it. YAY !

Then, the roof tile dude arrived with the small conveyer-belt thingy that carries the roof tiles up onto the roof.

When I returned this afternoon I see that the house roof has had all of the sarking and batterns fixed, ready for roof tiling tomorrow (I hope). They have not started the Garage roof yet as the fascia and gutter has not yet been fitted.

Rain rain go away....

Don't get me wrong i'm loving all this rain...BUT... Hello we are trying to build a house here.

Tomorrow, we are supposed to have the roof tiling started. However, they still haven't been delivered. We are so looking forward to this step as once they are on then we will see our beautiful house bloom inside :)
(I'm a bit scared as we will soon see our color choices come to life).

So fingers crossed for tomorrow, let's hope the rain holds off just for a few days.

The Site Has Been Cleaned Out

Yesterday (Friday) the guys came to do a site clean, and with that the rains also came. We also had a delivery of wood (we think it is the roof battens for under the roof tiles).

Here are some pictures.

Of the front.

Out the back.

Next week we are hoping for a really busy week...up at the house. The Roof Tiling is expected to happen on Tuesday. The brickies are due back on Tuesday as well.

Hopefully the rain will disappear before next week the tradies return...

10am update

Went up to the house this am, and there are people all over the house. The scaffolding guys are there and have smoothed my worries regarding that middle section of the house and how the crap they were gonna paint the rendering section as well as getting up there to fix things on the roof. The Stair case people are also there at the moment taking measurement's for the balcony rail. OME there is so much happing its making me dizzy :-0.. I LOVE IT ... i could kiss my SS :) hope he keeps up the excellent work. hehehe

Today we should see a HUGE diffrence

Because we have a site clean up, and the scaffolding is coming down. I wonder how they will do things that have to be done high up??? I would be scared to be up so high without scaffolding.
we ill have pics and a update through out the day.

Wednesday's Update

Today the Fascia and Guttering guys were there doing what they do best. And i'd have to say that it has made our house look marvellous.

When I went up to take the pictures, I heard 'crash, boom', and the guys were at the house putting the roof safety rails up. I was so excited as this wasn't going to happen 'til Friday.

Tomorrow we have site clean up and the removal of the scaffolding and we will see our beautiful house in full.

Hugs and kisses

John & Tarin

Fingers Crossed for the Arrival of the Brick Cleaner :-)

We are expecting the brick cleaner today. John and I can't wait to see our bricks cleaned and looking grand. The rendering looks spectacular, the guys did a really, really great job. So now we are waiting on the guttering and stuff and hopefully that will be put up some time this week, then the roof can go on :-)

Friday's Rendering Photos Update (RENDERING NOW COMPLETED)

Today, around 5pm, the Renders finished their great work. The quality of the job is fantastic. Some more photos are below for your viewing pleasure.

We also met Lyle today, Lyle is Mark's boss (Site Supervisor) and he is as just as cool as Mark, a really nice bloke.

We also had confirmed today that the fascia and guttering will arrive on Tuesday and by the end of the week it should be fixed to the house, not long after the roof tiles should arrive and be placed on the house. Once the roof is on then it will be all systems go inside. :-) We can't wait for this to happen...
