Finally, applied finish is being 'applied'...
My house is going to be full of colour today, the painters are up there applying the applied finish to the rest of the house. Finally, the front of the house will be almost complete :-D We were expecting no action today but John went up to the house and found the painters there. Mr L was up there as well, we have to say we are quite impressed and are very happy that he is spending so much time and effort on our house - we have never seen so much action.
Photos will be taken and uploaded later today...

PCI still not clear yet...
This morning we heard from Mr L. This is the schedule for the coming week:
Today, 24th - The plumber will be in to do his fit off (he never completes his work, let's see if he does today),
Monday, 27th - Excavator to arrive - to remove the excess spoil from the front and rear yards and to cut the rear area behind the garage.
Tuesday, 28th - Fitoff carpenter to arrive and complete his work (door handles, fix some architraves) and hopefully the air con contractor will arrive to install the air con unit.
Wed & Thu - not sure yet
Friday, 31st - Installation of panelift doors and roller door.
That's it for now...

Well we met with our new site supervisor today. He seemed genuinely concerned regarding the build which was nice. He went through our list that we had sent him by email, and we chatted about things that was bothering him as well. We talked about the time line and due our rental position we have to be out on Wednesday the 29th so we have asked that he get the garage safe and secure so that when Wednesday comes we could move all the stuff in there and go and stay at the motor in. This is due to the last SS promising that it was all going to be done by last Friday. Mr L commented that he was sorry that we had been put through such a ordeal... Really we don't feel like that at all. Mark was a great guy but saying that may be working as a site supervisor just wasn't his forte. and we wish him all the best.
Mr L had asked us if we could do one thing for him. And that was if we could go in and sweep out the house. and tidy the place up. So we spent most of this afternoon sweeping and breathing in dust :D. But that didn't bother us as it gave us some time to spend some time in our beautiful house.
I am sure that what need to be done will be done and Mr L will do the best he can. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel even if it is just a pin head. I look forward to the first night we can shut the front door and call the place home.

We have a meeting with our new SS today.
Due to what happened on Friday (our SS's departure from the company), we are going up to meet our new SS today at the house. Mark had done an awesome job with our house and we think that it's beautiful. However, our new SS has a different view on the situation. We have all agreed that the amount of half completed jobs were beyond a joke. But was that the fault of the trades or the SS? ...guess we will just have to wait and see...

Hi Ho Hi Ho its off to IKEA we go!
I know, I know, we haven't provided an update for a few days. I thought we had better update you all on what has been happening.
Last Friday we found out that our SS had left Masterton. This has left us in a very tight position with under a week to go until handover. John has spoken to another person at Masterton regarding the position we are in and he has asked us to give him a little more time. He said that he needs to get things in order again. Therefore we are probably looking at another couple of weeks or so until hand over.
We are very disappointed that our SS has gone and we hope that he stays in touch with us. Saying that, we have to say that we really didn't see how we were going to be in the house by this weekend anyway. There is still so much to do from fixing the render and rendering the stairs, complete the tiling, plumbing, the fit off for all the extra electricals including speakers, duct vac, air con etc. There is just so much more to do...
Today we are off to Sydney for a trip to IKEA. We have our list, a tape mesure, our plan and John has the credit cards (I know 'case I checked :-P .
Anyhow must go...
John's tappin' his foot as we speak to get going hehehe
Hugs

No trades today, :(
I did happen to get a few pics thorough.
The painters were the yesterday afternoon and they painted the conservatory and down pipes
and the concreter were there some time to day to take down the form work from the stairs

We are still waiting on the hurricane of tradies to come and make a whirlwind in the house LOL.
I did notice that some one had been in the house and put the vanity from the powder room where it belongs.
Hopefully we will see the plumbers and sparkies tomorrow.
